From #6 to #1: An 8-Week AI Visibility Case Study
An established bail bond company came to GetLocalLeads.AI with one goal. He wanted more referrals by getting recommended more often when prospective customers turned to AI tools for help.
What began as an AI referral-growth strategy grew into something considerably larger.
Eight weeks after the original benchmark, the company ranked #1 overall across every current AI visibility report configuration tested.
It started with a complimentary audit
Before the company spent a dollar with us, our AI Visibility Audit and AI Recommendations Gap Report established the starting point.
In our AI gap report analysis of 17 local businesses across 1,352 AI answers, we found 14 of the 17 businesses were ranked number one by at least one engine at least once, even though the typical business appeared in only 17% of its answers. 3 of the 6 businesses that led their own market still came back rated Needs Work or Critical, though that is a six-business group.
That research did more than produce a ranking. It showed how the company was being represented across the web, and identified problems that made it harder for search engines and AI platforms to form a clear, consistent picture of the business.
The baseline:
- #6 overall among local competitors
- 18.75% appearance rate in tested AI responses
- 81.25% recommendation absence
- 0 of 6 AI recommendations in one priority market
The audit also found inconsistent business information scattered across the web, and inconsistencies inside the company's own website.
Some were small. One facility address carried an incorrect digit. That is enough to introduce conflicting information about a business. When names, addresses, phone numbers, services, and locations disagree with each other, search engines and AI systems are left reconciling details that should have matched from the start.
All of that was identified before the company became a paying client. The owner could see exactly where the business stood before deciding what to do next.
A strong business whose digital foundation had not caught up
The underlying company was already established. It offered 24/7 availability, low down payments, flexible financing, and the core bail bond services families need in urgent situations.
The business was never the problem. Its digital representation had not kept pace with the strength of the actual company.
The opportunity was to make the digital version of the company reflect the business that already existed.
The owner chose a completely new website
The website was not part of the original agreement.
Once the research showed him how much the foundation needed work, the owner chose to rebuild it, and GetLocalLeads.AI was trusted to design and develop a completely new site from the ground up.
This was not a prebuilt template with a logo, colors, and copy dropped into place. The site was custom-tailored around the company itself: its customers, services, markets, conversion goals, competitive positioning, and long-term visibility strategy.
From strategy and information architecture through design, content, development, tracking, and launch, it was built around three goals:
- Convert more visitors into calls and customers
- Build a stronger SEO-driven foundation for traditional search
- Give AI platforms clearer, more authoritative information to draw on when they describe and recommend the business
Cleaning up what search engines and AI had already learned
Building something new was only half the work. The information surrounding the company had to be corrected too.
We worked through the inconsistencies the original research identified and established a clearer, more consistent digital identity across the website and the company's broader online presence.
We did not simply add more information to the internet. We corrected the information search engines and AI systems were already learning from.
Built around a proprietary SEO, AEO, and GEO playbook
SEO, AEO, and GEO were not services bolted on after the website was finished. AEO is answer engine optimization and GEO is generative engine optimization: structuring a business's content and information so AI systems can find it, trust it, and quote it accurately.
GetLocalLeads.AI used its proprietary playbook to bring the website, content, business information, local authority, entity development, search visibility, AI visibility, and ongoing measurement into one system.
The individual tactics matter. The advantage is in how they work together.
We do not publish the entire playbook. The results show what it was built to accomplish.
One coordinated visibility system
Custom website development. Purpose-built strategy, architecture, design, content, development, conversion pathways, tracking, and launch.
SEO. A technical and content foundation built to strengthen traditional discoverability.
AEO and GEO. Content and digital-authority strategies designed around AI-generated answers and recommendations.
Local visibility. Ongoing Google Business Profile optimization and local presence work.
Content development. Sales and educational content built around the real questions prospective customers ask, organized by service, situation, market, and search intent.
Information management. Continued strengthening of the company's important business information wherever it appears online.
AI visibility measurement. Repeated testing that measured whether AI platforms were actually recommending the company, rather than assuming the work was landing.
Strategic differentiation. A completely new community-support initiative, created after the relationship began, that gave AI platforms another substantive reason to surface the business.
Five major AI engines used in testing
- ChatGPT
- Google AI Mode
- Gemini
- Claude
- Perplexity
The company's visibility was evaluated across the platforms consumers increasingly use to research businesses and decide who to call. This was never a case study built on one favorable response from a single engine.

Three reports. Three competitive fields. One outcome.
Current testing produced the same overall result across three separate AI visibility report configurations, containing fields of 62, 60, and 29 named companies and organizations.
#1 overall in all three. Different configurations, different competitive fields, one consistent result.
From zero visibility to complete recommendation coverage
One priority market gives the cleanest before and after.
The pre-engagement benchmark found the company in 0 of 6 AI recommendations there.
Current testing found it in 5 of 5 general Bail Bond recommendations and 5 of 5 Federal Bail Bond recommendations, reproduced across two separate current test runs.
A market where the company failed to appear at all became a market where it appeared in every recommendation check tested.
#1 across a major metropolitan market
One of the strongest commercial results came from a major metropolitan market serving nearly 1.2 million residents.
#1 in 8 of 8 Federal Bail Bond recommendation checks across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, and Claude, produced across two separate current test runs.
In a second flagship market, the company ranked #1 in 6 of 6 checks across three major AI platforms, again across two test runs.
100% Google article indexing
Every sales article and blog article produced during the engagement was indexed by Google.
That indexed content became part of the foundation supporting the company's traditional search visibility and broader digital authority. Our content strategy carries an indexing commitment. We do not publish content and walk away from it.
The search foundation underneath the AI results
AI systems build recommendations from sources they can find and read, which makes conventional search coverage the ground the AI results stand on. Google Search Console shows that ground being built, comparing the eight weeks before the engagement with the eight weeks during it.
The company had zero city-level service pages earning search visibility before the engagement. A filtered query across those eight prior weeks returns nothing, because none of those pages existed.
In the most recent four-week window, 48 city and county service pages were earning search visibility. Of those, 29 average a position inside the top 20, 17 average page one, and 2 average a top-three position.
The company's main metropolitan search term improved from average position 15.7 to 11.9. The bondsman variation moved from 15.6 to 11.4, and the primary county term from 29.1 to 24.0.
One suburban market went from average position 46.0 to 10.3 on its core term, starting from no dedicated page at all.
38 locally relevant search queries produced visibility during the engagement that produced none before it. Seven of those average a top-ten position.
These are coverage and ranking measures, captured in Google Search Console over the engagement window.
Then the strategy grew beyond the original goal
The client came to GetLocalLeads.AI for referral opportunities from AI recommendations. The community-support initiative was not part of that agreement. It came later.
As our team learned the business and studied the market, we identified a chance to build something that did not exist yet. Rather than positioning the company around the bail transaction alone, we designed a strategy to help families with what comes after release.
That became the foundation of a growing Family Resource Hub.
We created a new reason to recommend the brand
We did not suggest the idea and hand it back to the client. Our team built it:
- Conceived the strategy
- Researched the applicable community resources
- Personally identified organizations that could strengthen the network
- Contacted them directly
- Recruited the participating organizations
- Coordinated the initiative on the client's behalf
- Built the supporting digital presence around it
The result was a community-support network connecting families with trusted resources beyond the initial bail transaction.
This was not another SEO page. It created a new layer of purpose, community involvement, differentiation, digital authority, and a genuine reason for AI systems to describe the company differently from a generic competitor.
93.3% reentry-support visibility
14 of 15 AI responses.
After building the initiative and the digital presence around it, we tested how AI platforms responded.
Several responses went beyond mentioning the company's name. They described elements of the structured post-release support approach reflected throughout the company's digital presence. In multiple cases, AI systems recommending the company also surfaced additional regional support resources alongside it.
AI began reflecting what made the company different.
We did not optimize an existing differentiator. We helped create the differentiator itself, built the real-world network behind it, created the digital presence surrounding it, and then measured AI systems beginning to surface that positioning.
The network kept growing after we pulled the data
The 14-of-15 result is a snapshot of the Family Resource Hub at the moment the case-study data was collected.
Since that pull, four additional community organizations have joined the network. The initiative is already larger than the version reflected in the 93.3% result.
We are giving those new organizations and relationships time to become fully represented across the company's digital presence before running the next round of AI visibility testing.
Previous result: 14 of 15. Next question: can the expanded network reach 15 of 15? We plan to retest and find out.
Eight weeks of measurable change
The original measurement window ran from July 7 through September 1, 2026.
| Starting point | Eight weeks later |
|---|---|
| #6 overall | #1 across all three current report configurations |
| 18.75% AI appearance rate | 5 of 5 general and 5 of 5 Federal Bail Bond recommendations in the market that began at zero |
| 81.25% recommendation absence | #1 in 8 of 8 Federal Bail Bond checks in a major metropolitan market |
| 0 of 6 recommendations in one priority market | #1 in 6 of 6 in a second flagship market |
| No reentry-support tracking | 93.3% reentry-support visibility |
| No indexing commitment | 100% Google article indexing |
Website strategy, SEO, AEO, GEO, content, local visibility, information management, digital consistency, strategic differentiation, community outreach, and AI measurement were never treated as disconnected tactics. They became one coordinated growth system.
The work did not stop at #1
Reaching #1 was a milestone rather than a finish line. The ongoing monthly engagement continues to build:
- The custom website remains the foundation
- New content keeps expanding the company's searchable footprint
- The SEO, AEO, and GEO strategy keeps building around the business
- Important company information continues to be managed and strengthened
- Local visibility continues to grow
- AI recommendation performance continues to be measured rather than assumed
- The Family Resource Hub continues to expand, with four organizations added since the original data pull
- Another round of AI visibility testing is planned once those additions have had time to register across the company's online presence
#1 gave us a stronger foundation to build from. It did not give us a reason to stop building.
Frequently asked questions
How long did it take to go from #6 to #1?
Eight weeks. The measurement window ran from July 7 to September 1, 2026. The company began at #6 overall with an 18.75% AI appearance rate and finished at #1 across three separate current report configurations.
Which AI platforms were tested?
Five: ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity. The 8-of-8 Federal Bail Bond result was produced across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, and Claude.
What does an 18.75% AI appearance rate mean?
The company appeared in 18.75% of the AI responses tested and was absent from the other 81.25%. When someone asked an AI platform which local company to call, this business was missing from the answer roughly four times out of five.
Does AI visibility require a new website?
Not in every case. This owner chose one after the audit showed how much his foundation was working against him. What moved the result was the full combination: a corrected digital identity, a conversion and SEO-driven site, city-level pages, entity signals, a real differentiator, local visibility, and continuous measurement.
How is AI visibility measured?
By running a defined set of buyer-intent prompts across multiple AI platforms and recording whether the business appears, where it ranks among named competitors, and how it gets described. Repeating those tests shows whether the picture is genuinely changing. We wrote a walkthrough on how to check if AI recommends your business if you want to run a rough version yourself.

Do you know what AI sees when it looks at your business?
This entire engagement began in the same place we invite every prospective client to start: a complimentary AI Visibility Audit and AI Recommendations Gap Report.
Before this company became a client, that research found a #6 benchmark position, an 81.25% AI recommendation absence rate, 0-of-6 visibility in a priority market, conflicting information across the web, problems inside the existing website, and opportunities the owner could not see from inside his own business.
Eight weeks later: #1.
What would the same research find about your business? When prospective customers ask ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, or Perplexity who they should call, do you know whether your company appears? And if it does, do you know who AI is recommending ahead of you?
